Deepawali Table

The Indian new year, Deepawali is right around the corner (November 1st). Deepawali is one of the biggest festivals of India for Hindus. During Deepawali, houses are lit up with clay lamps. It is believed that during the Deepawali season, if the house is well lit, the Hindu goddess of luck (Lakshmi) will visit your house. I like to set the table for Deepawali with lots of candles; after all, I want the goddess of luck to visit me. This year's inspiration for my table is marigolds from the garden.

  1. Lovely pictures! I love the way you have surrounded your main plate with flowers lying atop your charger. A beautiful idea. Your colors ( and napkin rings) are beautiful. Well done...

You are also the inspiration for me from last year for a ''garden of various coleus" which I am still working on. But that centerpiece is my inspiration for today and I shall go out and try to make my version of this, it is sooooo beautiful!! thanks for partying. I did not get to party this time, but I love to see them anyway.
