Indian Wedding

If you have never attended an Indian wedding, it is very colorful and vibrant. This past week, I attended my friend's daughter's wedding. The wedding is as grand as the invitation. If you missed my post about the invitation, please click here.
Here I am posting a tablescape from the reception.






There were 3 different tablescapes at the reception. It looks like crystals are in style right now.




I dressed in traditional Indian attire.


The table is set with purple silk linens.


 Each female guest was presented with a gift.

    DD,
    That is a jewelry box, filled with nuts, idol and haldi-kumkum (haldi is turmeric and Kumkum is a red powder that married women use it to put a dot on their forehead). Haldi-kumkum is symbol of prosperity. It is a tradition to offer haldi-kumkum at weddings and all auspicious occasions in India.

    Oh Komali, how elegant and how vibrant are this photos. I really love this colors. I think, the sari is one of the most gracefully looking women cloth at all and you look soooo elegant in this saffron silky sari. What a generous gesture to make a gift to the guests. I wish for bride and groom that Ganesha always will have benevolence with them. Thank you for sharing this pretty event with us.

    What a spectacular reception design and you look lovely in your traditional dress. I peaked in on an Indian wedding when I was in Jaipur two years ago and was completely taken with how beautiful it was. I loved all the color everywhere in India and look forward to returning.
