Yesterday, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our good friends. Ideally, I would have liked to post about the entire process of arranging the party as it was happening but since it was a surprise party, I didn't want them to find out about it from my blog. The first task of arranging the party began 6 weeks ago with making the invitations and choosing a color theme (teal and brown).
I bought 2 packets of 5.5 x 8.5 teal and brown paper from the Paper Source. I trimmed the teal paper by 1/2 an inch and used a Martha Stewart puncher to make a design at the bottom. I used a template from the Paper Source to print the invitations. I made a bow with a wire edged teal ribbon and used a little embellishment in the center of the bow. Using a glue stick, I adhered the 2 papers together and used a hot glue gun to adhere the bow to the paper. Voila! The invitation was ready and my color scheme was set to plan the event.
In future posts, I will share the cake, the tablescape, the flower arrangements, etc.

I am joining Susan's Between Naps on the Porch for Metamorphosis Monday, Patty's Weekend wrap-up and Smiling Sally's Blue Monday.
