Centerpiece from the china cabinet

Last Friday I entertained a couple of friends for dinner. By the time I got ready with the dinner, I realized I don’t have any centerpiece for my kitchen island. It was too late to go and pick flowers from the garden. I was looking for the inspiration to create something unusual. I got my light green cake pedestal and dug in to my china cabinet for inspiration. I pulled out my Japanese pottery leaf plates and dipping bowls and arranged them on the cake pedestal and used it as my centerpiece for the kitchen island. When it was time for dessert, I used plates from the centerpiece to serve dessert.

The next time you are looking for inspiration for a centerpiece, look no further than your own china cabinet.
