Thali

Today I wanted to post a tablescape with thali. Then I thought  first I should explain what is thali before I post a tablescape with thali theme.

Thali is a traditional Indian meal, served in a round metal-edged plate with rice and/or bread in the middle and an assortment of curries served in small cups called katoris around the rice. Usually, the round plate and cups are made of stainless steel. This style of serving food is known as “thali”. In India, usually thali represents the characteristics of the region you are in, featuring the dishes native to the region. Usually thali includes rice, chappatis, yogurt, meat, vegetables and dal. Typically, the restaurant menu offers a choice of vegetarian or non-vegetarian thali.
