Yesterday I had lunch for friends who are visiting from Boston. This is the china (minton, Royal doulton) I use whenever I am in a hurry and don't have much time to think. I have used this china several times before in this blog. The star of the table is not the china, but the proteas from my garden. Yes, it is that time of the year, when the pin-cushon protea bushes are exploding with brightly colored blooms.
Since the stems of the proteas are heavy, I chose the crystal ice bucket instead of a vase to arrange flowers.
My favorite napkins and pink glasses
As beautiful as they are, these flowers don't have any fragrance. I harvested some rosemary (it grows like weeds here) from the herb garden and included it in the arrangement.

ReplyDeleteHello Komali,
ReplyDeletethe proteas look like firework, just stunning. And the china is perfect to them.
Greetings, Johanna
There isn't anything about your table that I'm NOT in love with. Your choice of dishes and the colors of the flowers to go with them is perfect. I love the rosemary used as a filler and sure wish that I could grow it like a week. Unfortunately where I am that isn't possible. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful table.
