Strawberry Lassi

I have an announcement to make: I am a featured chef for the upcoming California Strawberry Festival, which takes place on May 15th and May 16th. On May 16th at 12:00 PM, I will be demonstrating 3 recipes using strawberries and Indian spices. If you are going to be in southern California, please come and attend the Strawberry Festival in Oxnard. I will be signing books after my demonstration.  In the intention of creating recipes using strawberries as the star ingredient and the essence of Indian spices, I have come up with 3 recipes for the Strawberry Festival. Here is one of my recipes.

Strawberry Lassi

Lassi is a very popular drink during hot summer days in India. Lassi is made to be savory as well as sweet. This recipe combines the wholesome goodness of yogurt and strawberries. This is a perfect drink for breakfast to give a boost of energy in the morning.

Recipe

Serves 4
  • 1 pound strawberries, chopped
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 1/3 - ½ cup sugar or honey
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon green cardamom seed powder
  • 1 cup crushed ice

Place all the ingredients in a blender. Process until frothy.
