Today I am expecting guests for dinner. Instead of my usual table setting, I decided to serve my meal "buffet style" and accent my table with an ethnic Indian dress.
When you are setting the buffet table, create a focal point. As opposed to dining table centerpieces, which should be above or below the eye level, buffet table flowers can be tall and dramatic. It is nice to set the food at different heights to give the table interest and drama.
I should make chicken biryani to serve in this platter.
Nice spicy dal would be perfect for this round dish.
Stir fried vegetables would be perfect on this platter. Yep, you guessed it right. I look at the dishes that I want to use and come up with the menu. Isn't that strange?
A porcelain rose is used to weigh down the napkins.
An Indian dress is used as a table topper.
The East Coast has lilacs, whereas the West Coast has snow ball bush.
Now my buffet table is set. I am fully inspired to cook the meal that compliments the table.
