Indian Wedding Food

Food is the most important thing at any celebration and Indian weddings are no exception. If you missed my post about the invitation, click here. If you missed my post about the tablescape for the wedding, click here. At this wedding reception, the appetizers were to die for. These appetizers were more like a meal than a snack.

Here is chaat. Chaat is a typical North Indian snack/salad.

Beautiful flowers were the center of attraction.

Paneer tikka. It's a vegetarian's favorite.

Many Indians are vegetarians. Usually, you find a vegetarian spread for the appetizers.

Vegetable kabobs made with potatoes and vegetables.

Vegetable samosas.

Two different chutneys to accompany all the snacks.

Lamb chops were melting in my mouth.

The tandoori shrimp were disappearing in no time.

Chicken tikka.

  4. Yvonne,
Please find a good Indian restaurant and dine at least once. Or get my book and try to cook your self. It will be an experience to remember.

  6. We had lunch at an Indian restaurant here in Birmingham a couple of weeks ago. It was OK, but did not look nearly as good as the pictures you show -- wish I could have some.
