If you missed my post about getting the garden ready for the party, please click here
On the day of the party, I harvested hydrangeas and carrot wood flowering branches to make centerpieces.

Homegrown centerpiece

Guests were offered three different flavors of rice, lemon rice, tomato pulao and cilantro pulao along with different curries to customize their meal. The menu was created based on what is available from the kitchen garden. All of these recipes are from both my cookbooks, Entertaining From an Ethnic Indian Kitchen and Trader Joe's Simply Indian.

Tomato garbanzo salad

Garden cucumber raita

My daughter was making sure everything was set up right

Now that the food is all set up, I am ready to mingle with the guests

After the garden tour, the guests were socializing and catching up with one another

I know I should have photographed the appetizer and dessert spread. But I was too busy to think about pictures.
