Proteas at my dinner party

Last Saturday, just before we say goodbye to summer, I had one last outdoor party to enjoy this beautiful weather. As always, flowers played an important role in creating the ambiance for the event. Right now, pink proteas are in bloom in my garden. That is what I used for my arrangements for the party.

Pink proteas mixed with eucalyptus

Dhokla sandwiches (recipe adopted from my cookbook, Entertaining from an Ethnic Indian Kitchen)

Proteas on the kitchen table

Centerpieces for the table were made with a different kind of protea mixed with variegated geranium leaves, succulents and ming fern, all harvested from the garden
