Getting ready for garden tour: Miniature garden

As I was saying in my previous post, I have been getting my garden ready for a local garden tour that benefits hospice care. In my efforts to get the garden ready for visitors, I have been gardening non-stop and will continue to do so until May 4th. I have been creating little vignettes all over the garden for visitors to enjoy. This miniature garden is one of the vignettes right next to the toolshed.

I found these two stone-ant-people in the local nursery. I thought that the one holding the ladder represents my husband who is always harvesting fruit in the orchard. The one holding the shovel ready to dig represents me because I am always fiddling around in the kitchen garden. Miniature gardens often tell a story; I decided to tell a story of my household though the miniature garden.

I found a birdhouse that has a similar color scheme as my house. Then, the story starts unraveling..

Here is Mrs. Ant is digging in the kitchen garden and growing all the luscious vegetables.

Mr. Ant is climbing over the ladder and harvesting the fruit in the orchard.

Mr. &  Mrs. Ant like to take a break from their hard work to drink tea in the lawn.

There is a turtle pond in the property

What do you think? Do you like my miniature house tour?
